Quickie Ride: Republ1c Wakepark

It has been almost a year when I first heard of Republ1c Wakepark opening in Nuvali. At that time, I’ve read more rumors than facts online so I tried to go look for it myself but no one seem to know where.

Fast forward to August 2012, the wakepark is finally officially open having done a couple of test runs in March, May and June. It was the venue for the 6th Philippine Wakeboard Nationals.

After seeing more and more vehicles in Laguna sporting the park’s logo sticker, I decided to get myself one on a lazy Saturday afternoon although their website says they are under maintenance until October 19.

If you’re coming from the North (Tagaytay, Cavite, Sta. Rosa, Muntinlupa, Alabang, and beyond), you need to get to Nuvali (near Paseo de Sta. Rosa) first. If you’re coming from the South (Calamba, Los Banos, Batangas, San Pablo and beyond), you can already take the Mayapa or Silangan Exit (via SLEX) or the Mayapa Road (via National Highway). Either route should lead to the Rotonda in Nuvali Main Road (red circle).

There are road signs along the way, so you won’t have to worry. Here’s a copy of the map from their website. Caution: Google Map tagging is incorrect.

You would pass by exclusive subdivisions so be prepared to show some form of ID to the guards. The park is about 9 kms from Nuvali or 6 kms from the Rotonda. Just stay on Nuvali Road until then make left to Avida Parkway. “Riders” are especially welcome as noted on the tarp. 🙂

Indeed, the park is under maintenance.

Nonetheless, I get to chat with some employees and snap a couple of pictures. The store is also open and I got a look at the equipment and gears.

Damn! Wakeboarding is an expensive sport! Not to worry though, they do offer Rentals for the boards as low as Php 250 for an hour. That and a 1 hour Pass for Php 250 and you’re good to go. A helmet and vest is already included for a deposit of Php 600 and a valid ID. Can’t get enough? Maybe an Unlimited Pass is what you need for as low as Php 5000 for 1 week. Check out their website for more updates and promos!

Now, all I need to do is figure out where to put this sticker on my Givi case.

Maybe I should’ve bought the other design instead. I’ll go visit the park again when they RESUME FOR GOOD on October 20. See you there!
